We are looking for a skilled and disciplined SMT Operator to join our manufacturing team and support the production of high-reliability PCB assemblies.

About the role

A Bengaluru-based aerospace and defence electronics company specialising in the design and manufacture of high-reliability electronic systems for space, defence and aerospace applications. The SMT Operator – Aerospace & Defence Electronics is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru. We are looking for a skilled and disciplined SMT Operator to join our manufacturing team and support the production of high-reliability PCB assemblies.

What you'll do

• Operate and monitor Mycronic MYDATA 300 Pick-and-Place machine for SMT component placement.
• Set up the machine, feeders and component reels as per approved production programmes and BOM.
• Verify component part numbers, values, orientation and placement before and during production.
• Handle electronic components in accordance with ESD and moisture-sensitive device (MSD) requirements.
• Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot basic machine alarms and placement issues.
• Perform visual inspection of PCB assemblies and identify common SMT defects such as missing, misplaced, misaligned or incorrectly oriented components.
• Maintain accurate production records and ensure complete component and PCB traceability.
• Follow SOPs, work instructions, quality procedures and ESD requirements at all times.
• Coordinate with Production, Engineering and Quality teams to resolve production and quality issues.
• Maintain cleanliness, organisation and basic operator-level maintenance of the SMT equipment.

What we're looking for

• ITI / Diploma in Electronics, Electrical or a related technical field.
• 2–5 years of hands-on SMT / PCB assembly experience preferred.
• Experience operating Pick-and-Place machines is required.
• Mycronic MYDATA experience will be an advantage.
• Good knowledge of SMT components, PCB assembly and ESD practices.
• Ability to read BOMs, component lists and basic assembly documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a disciplined, quality-critical manufacturing environment.
