SMT Operator

About the role

Newtech Aerospace are looking for a skilled and disciplined SMT Operator to join our manufacturing team. We are looking for a skilled SMT Operator to operate and monitor Mycronic MYDATA 300 Pick-and-Place machines and support the production of high-reliability PCB assemblies for aerospace and defence applications.

What you'll do

• Operate and set up SMT Pick-and-Place machines, feeders, and component reels.
• Verify components, BOMs, orientation, and placement accuracy.
• Follow ESD/MSD handling, SOPs, and quality procedures.
• Inspect PCB assemblies for common SMT defects.
• Troubleshoot basic machine alarms and placement issues.
• Maintain production records and PCB/component traceability.
• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams.

What we're looking for

• ITI/Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, or related field.
• 2–5 years of hands-on SMT/PCB assembly experience.
• Experience with Pick-and-Place machines; Mycronic MYDATA is an advantage.
• Knowledge of SMT components, ESD practices, BOM reading, and quality inspection.
• 3+ years of Defence & Space Manufacturing experience preferred.
